13. Bamboo Strip Dome Pendant
Lightweight, strong, and deeply connected to traditional Asian crafts, bamboo is a classic material choice for natural home design. A bamboo strip dome pendant takes thin, hand-split strips of flexible bamboo and bends them into an undulating, nest-like dome structure. The craftsman leaves the bamboo in its raw, unpolished state, displaying natural bark variations, node markings, and earthy green-to-tan color transitions across the shade body.
The open, lattice-like construction of a bamboo dome allows light to escape freely while shielding the naked bulb from direct view. As warm light passes through the overlapping bamboo strips, it projects intricate, geometric shadows onto the floor and surrounding walls, instantly adding visual texture to simple rooms. Hang this light over a low coffee table surrounded by floor cushions to create a relaxed, grounded tea-room ambiance in your modern apartment or house.
