16. Sunken Cobblestone Canal Cafe
Taking inspiration from European canal systems, the Sunken Cobblestone Canal Cafe is built below street level along a stone-lined water trench. Players walk down a set of grand stone brick stairs from the main upper street to arrive at a secluded, water-level dining walkway. The cafe façade is built directly into the retaining wall of the street above, using arched brick alcoves to house the kitchen, bar, and indoor seating booths. The outdoor tables are positioned just inches above the glowing water, separated only by a low fence of iron bars or wooden gates. Small stone bridges cross over the canal right next to the tables, while water lily pads and glowing sea pickles dot the canal surface. The sunken design gives the café an intimate, hidden-gem atmosphere, completely removed from the busy traffic of the main upper street level.
