12. Cascading Crystal and Brass Pendant Light Cover

12

Lighting in the Art Deco era was focused on dramatic shadows, tiered shapes, and radiant diffusion. You can construct a mesmerizing, multi-tiered pendant light cover using embroidery hoops, metal chain, and hanging chandelier glass prisms or acrylic crystals. Select three wooden or metal embroidery hoops in descending diameters (e.g., 12 inches, 9 inches, and 6 inches). Paint all hoops in a smooth, metallic antique gold finish. Connect the three hoops vertically using small brass jewelry chains so they suspend in a stepped, waterfall-like inverted pyramid structure. Attach rows of sparkling glass crystal drops around the full circumference of each hoop using jump rings. When suspended over an existing bulb socket, the light filters through the suspended crystals, casting mesmerizing geometric light patterns and liquid reflections across the entire room.
