17. Tiered Brass and Velvet Wall Sconce
Ambient sconce lighting provides soft, romantic wall illumination that transforms the mood of any hallway or bedside area. Craft a striking, non-wired decorative wall sconce using tiered brass sheets and luxurious velvet fabric. Cut two or three overlapping curved shield shapes out of thin, pliable brass craft sheets, making each layer progressively smaller. Polish the metal surfaces to a mirror sheen using brass cleaner. Line the smallest top shield layer with a piece of jewel-toned velvet, leaving a thin exposed brass edge around its perimeter. Mount a battery-operated LED puck light or a realistic flickering flameless candle behind the front panel.
