6. Mirror Tiles Fan-Shaped Mosaic

6

Art Deco interior design mastered the art of reflection, using mirrored surfaces to amplify light, expand small footprints, and add instant glamor. You can craft a stunning wall mirror featuring the iconic Deco fan or peacock tail shape using inexpensive mirror tiles. Draw a large fan outline on a sturdy MDF backing board. Using a glass cutter and a straightedge, carefully score and snap square mirror tiles into precise trapezoids and elongated triangular wedge shapes. Arrange the mirrored pieces onto the MDF board, leaving narrow, uniform gaps between them to emulate stained glass lead lines. Affix the glass pieces with heavy-duty mirror mastic, and once set, fill the joints with dark grey or black non-sanded tile grout. Wipe the surface clean to reveal a sparkling, multifaceted geometric mosaic that catches every beam of light in the room.
