13. Romantic Toile Fabric Wreath

13

Greet your guests at the front door or accent an interior mirror with a stunning, soft-textured rag wreath crafted entirely from strips of toile fabric. Traditional botanical wreaths are wonderful, but a fabric-wrapped wreath brings unexpected tactile warmth and custom color coordination to your seasonal or year-round home styling. It is an fantastic project for using up leftover fabric scraps from larger projects.

Start with a lightweight styrofoam, wire, or natural grapevine wreath form. If using a wire form, cut your toile fabric into strips roughly one inch wide by six inches long. Tie the strips securely around the wire frame rings in simple double knots, packing them tightly together so no frame shows through. If using a foam form, wrap long bands of fabric smoothly around the ring as a base, then use fabric glue to pin overlapping fabric ruffles, rosettes, or folded ribbon tails around the face. Accent the top or bottom of the wreath with a large bow made from solid linen or complementary burlap for a striking balance of rustic and refined textures.
