6. The Deep Dark Crystal Cavern

The Deep Dark is typically associated with danger, but it can be reclaimed as a place of eerie, crystal-like beauty.

The palette for this room is intense: dark, moody deepslate contrasting with the vibrant cyan and purple of amethyst shards. Use amethyst blocks and budding amethyst to create “growing” crystal structures that sprout from your walls and floors. The floor should be a mix of dark stone and glowing lichen, providing just enough light to see without ruining the atmosphere. Use candles—lots of them—in different colors. The contrast between the cold, hard stone and the delicate, flickering candles creates a cavernous atmosphere that feels both safe and ancient. It is the perfect room for a sorcerer or a collector of rare artifacts.
